Hello to all,
As my first post on this forum, I am pleased to
state that this forum seems to me more user friendly than
another - well known - one that is also devoted to Finale.

I am currently using Finale 2010 for Windows, and my question is
whether I could upgrade to Finale 2014.
I imagine it is possible ; however I have researched the web but have not found
an answer to my question so far.
Furthermore, I bought my copy in the US, and I was wondering whether
there would be a conflict with the French language upgrade.

Any help would of course be greatly appreciated.

What are your computer specs? Unless there is a conflict there, you shouldn't have any problem running 2014. As far as the language question, you would probably have to contact MM customer support, directly.

Thanks for your prompt response.
For the record, I got a new computer (W8, i5 chip, 8 Mega RAM memory)
therefore I should not encounter major difficulties.
I am also considering using Cakewalk Sonar 3 as a sequencing application
in tandem with Finale, the objetive being to operate an external expander or synthesizer in slave
mode for various recordings.

I would also STRONGLY suggest that you try the demo first, before jumping in on a purchase. While 2014 has performed flawlessly for many, there are some of us who have had various problems.

Thanks for the warning (sorry for the delay)
What flaw in particular should I look for?
Best Regards

I would just suggest that you peruse the other forum, and see the issues that some people have had. On the other hand, using the demo will tell you how it will work on your system, better than anything else. So if it works for you, other peoples' problems are irrelevant.
