Staff tool. Double-click to add a staff, then repeat underneath. Select the two new staffs and group them. (If any of that is not clear, hie thee hence to the manual and/or the tutorials.)

My problem is that I am new on this program, and the double click for staves does not work...
I don't know if the program is corrupted or what, but as a busy and avid music writer, I am frustrated not being able to create custom sheets and get on with what I can already do by hand.. any suggestions?

Staff Tool (= treble clef icon)
Staff menu
new staves
(then, you may need to create a staff group using "add group and bracket" also available in the same menu)

Thanks, that lands the new staves above the ones already written on, necessitating moving staves and tearing my hair out at the same time.
how do I get them below the current staves?
Thanks, Alan

Staff tool. A simple way is to use the handle at the beginning of a staff to move it up or down.
Adjust the staff groups (staff menu,"edit group attributes") if you change the order of staves.
In the staff menu, "Respace staves" will be useful, too.

Thanks

The double click doesn't work in page view, but works fine in scroll view (View menu)

1. Make sure you are in Scroll View.

2. a) If you want to insert new staves above an existing staff, select the staff before you go to
Staff menu > New Staves

b) If you want to insert new staves below all the existing staves, make sure that no staves are selected before you go to
Staff menu > New Staves
