In other words, disregarding the time signature, and stuffing in tons of notes. I already figured out how to make the note heads smaller and how to beam across the measure divisions, but I can't connect the beams with each other, nor how to put in more notes than the time signature can handle.

Here are some ideas:

* Use a tuplet that doesn't display neither number nor shape.

* Set the time signature for the measures(s) to something large, e. g. 5/2.
And hide the time signature.

* In the other staff, enter rests at the end of the measure.
Hide these rests.

* To beam over a barline, try Patterson's "Beam Over Barlines" plug-in.
TIP: If you later change the layout so that the "beam over barline" goes across a system break, the "beam over barline" won't display correctly.
In that case, just remove the "beam over barline" (use the plug-in "Beam Over Barlines/Remove").
And run the "Beam Over Barlines" plug-in again.

The tuplet thing worked, thank you.

How do I make this sign: http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/8819/finale37cb.jpg ? I can only find the ~ without the #. And the fermatta one?

Also, I figured out how to break a line to put a measure in the next system, but is there a way to put a 'paragraph' before the following system, like the first one? And is it possible to change the little text before the first system, where it says 'piano' (in piano scores obviously)?

Damn, I've edited this post to ask more questions like 5 times now.

I suppose that your document was created from Finale 2006's Default Document?

That symbol is not in the Default Document's articulation library, so you will have to create it yourself.
However, you don't have to begin from scratch, since there is already a similar shape articulation that you can modify:

1. Articulation Tool.
Click the note that should have the ~ with the #.
The Articulation Selection appears.

2. Click articulation 13 to select it. It's the tr symbol with a # above it.
Click Duplicate, and click Edit...
The Articulation Designer appears.

3. Click the button "Main...".
The Shape Selection appears.

4. Click the button "Edit...".
You end in the Shape Designer.
I recommend that you switch the view to a higher percentage, e. g. 200 %.

5. Click the Text (Sub-)Tool, and click the tr symbol.
A blinker appears next to the tr symbol.
Delete the tr symbol, and type a capital T (Shift-T).
This step should produce the ~.
Now you only need to nudge the # down below the ~.

6. Click the Selection (Sub-)Tool.
Click the ~ to select it.

7. Shape Designer menu > Ungroup
Now the # is individually selectable.
Click outside the symbols to deselect them.

8. Click above the # to select it without selecting the ~.
Nudge the selected # down with the DownArrow key.
When the # has been nudged down, select all, and Group the symbols.
Click OK, and then Select.

9. You may want to edit the the handle positioning - to make the symbol position itself automatically.

I don't understand.
There already is a fermata in the Default Document.
It's articulation 10.

If you want to indent the system, use the Page Layout Tool to change the system's left margin (use the context menu > Edit Margins...)

Staff Tool.
Staff menu > Edit Group Attributes...
To edit the the Full Group Name, click the button "Edit...".
