I know I've asked this before, but I can follow neither the manual nor the advice I've been given regarding putting a staccato mark within square brackets as an articulation. I'd like to have it as an alternative and not replacement for the normal staccato marking. Can anyone help me with some simple, straightforward instructions?

You could use the text tool, type left bracker. period, right bracket and then drag it to position it. I can't seem to create that with the articulation tool.

Florio,

It can be created as a shape articulation.

But I'm in doubt about, what layout you want.

So I suggest that you send me an e-mail.

Then I'll e-mail you a Finale 2005 document with a "staccato articulation mark within square brackets", and you can tell me, whether the layout is what you have in mind.
