When I'm working in 6/8 time, and I ask Finale Hyperscribe to give a countoff before beginning its recording, it gives the 6/8 countoff as 3 beats per measure (2/8+2/8+2/8) rather than as two beats (3/8+3/8).
Would there be a way to get it to give 6/8 as 2 beats per countoff measure?
My first thought was to give the 6/8 a hidden time signature of 3/8+3/8. But that didn't make any difference; it still counted off as 2/8+2/8+2/8.
Second thought was to put the "potatoes" in explicitly. But might be inexplicable.
Any thoughts appreciated.
thanks,
Garry

In the Time Signature tool, if you define the 6/8 as 2 dotted quarters, the click will adopt these values. Same thing for the Hyperscribe click and countoff, unless you changed the click value in Beat Source -> Playback & Click (the dotted quarter note should be selected).
