Same note with different hands or different layers

Hi,

I have a question which I don't quite understand, although there is probably a very easy solution.
I am trying a very easy piece called Gymnopedies by Satie (on the keyboard), and my question is: If I am playing a note with the right hand, for example an F in this case, and then I have to play the same note with the left hand, while in reality I should still hold down the F with the right hand, what am I supposed to do? Release the F with the right hand before it should actually be released and then play the F with the left hand? The same question applies when I have two or more layers with the same note...

I'd say you should stomp the pedal and play it again John. LH/RH or different layers makes no difference.
