Can one use a straight line to notate a slide? The "glissando" function is what I want, but I need a straight line instead of a squiggly line. I've tried to change the shape using the "?" icon and following directions in the help guide, but it just gives me wierd symbols on the first note of the slide, and a snowflake on the second!!!

Any help would be most appreciated.

Instead of using the Custom Line Tool (the "?" icon), you should use the Tab Slide Tool.

The Custom Line Tool is supposed to be used for Measure Attached Smart Shapes, whereas the Tab Slide Tool is supposed to be used for Notehead Attached Smart Shapes.

Found it -- that's perfect.

Thanks for the tip.
