I can export the entire composition, but how do I just export specific instruments so I can import into a DAW, especially if I have revised a section.

I'm using Digital Performer, but find Finale easier to edit scores than QuickScribe

Using v26 and OSX Sierra

I looked under FAQ, but either didn't use the correct search string or didn't find it

Thank you

S

nenvermind...nevermind

what I found apparently "extracts" each instrument separately..whwn what I was hoping it would do was export tyhe strings only, woodwinds, etc

So back to how to onlt export specific instruments?

I've never done it, but can you play it live into you DAW? in that case, you can control which instruments play back in the Score Manager.

i can play through the interface, but it's just reading from Finale to output and the DAW itself isn't capturing the individual tracks- I can export to MIDI and drag the entire session over, but if I change one section on one instrument, then it looks like extracting that instrument after the edit/revision and re-exporting only it to a MIDI track... and then drag that over the existing imported into DAW midi track is the only option

It works, it's just a bit cumbersome- and involves a lot of back and forth- and really keeping tack of edits and the order they are done in

at least this is the best work aroun dI have found thus far

Try to export to MIDI while in the linked part, only that instrument should be exported to the MIDI file. Do one part at a time.

Zuill

by linked do you mean using Rewire, or just both applications open at the same time?

Midok

links are not in English and there does not seem to be a translation option

What Zuill ment :
Generate parts (they will be called the "linked parts"), if it has not been done already (via the Document menu)
Then, in the same menu, Edit Part. Select the part, then export the Midi File. It will only contain that part.
