My version of finale is 2012 and i have a Windows.
I wrote a satb choral song but the 'S' for the soprano somehow is inside the measure instead of on the outside where it should be. Is there a way it can be fixed?

Have you tried dragging it to where it should be?

I have tried to drag it but it won't move. Is there something I need to do before i try to drag it?

We might need to see the file, or the portion with the problem. That would be the Finale file, not a picture of it.

P.S.: This picture shows what I am imagining based on your description.

That's exactly what it looks like, but how do you fix it?

In the Staff Tool, there's a handle by the S. Grab the handle and drag it to where you want it. You can also right click on the handle and choose the option to Position the Staff Name (either full or abbreviated, depending on the one you selected). In that window you can drag it or position it by the numbers.

If you select the handle and press the backspace key, that should put it back to the default position.
