Do you want the x in the notation staff, or in the TAB?

You can change the character of a TAB note, but it is not easy. Have you already tried Special Tools to do this?

I guess both. Are there any instructions on how to do that?

Hi zuill,

I did, if you mean the note shape tool. It didn't work. I am working in the Broadway Style. Any other way to do it?

That's how I did it in my demo.

This is what I usually do, hopefully it works for you:

Click the Selection tool
Select the region containing the notes you want to change
Choose Utilities > Change > Noteheads

That method is limited. It just depends on how you want the X to appear.
