I'm trying to make a new expression (as I've done many times) but I can't type 'm' with the same font as it is written in mezzo forte fx to create a mezzo-sforzando.
I duplicated mf to try to do this.
Am I missing something or using the wrong font?
msfz?

What music font are you using?
it is possible to create a msfz with the Maestro font.
The m is in character slot #189, and the sfz is in character slot #167.

Thank you, Peter. But when I'm in Expression Designer I can't see a way to access font symbols:

Also when I get to the menu, everything in Inserts is greyed out.

When you are in the Expression Designer, look in the menu bar at the top of the computer screen.bryla wrote:… when I'm in Expression Designer I can't see a way to access font symbols:

You will see that the Text menu is available.
Then, go to
Text menu > Inserts > Symbol…
What are your steps to “get to the menu”?bryla wrote:… Also when I get to the menu, everything in Inserts is greyed out.
