Quarter tone guitar bend

Hello,

I want to write a guitar bend from a note (microtone) between an E and and an Eb. In other words: from an Eb plus a quarter tone down to an Eb.
I haven't been able to find any information on how to do that. Actually, I'm also not sure how that's officially notated. The piece is a ragtime blues on solo steel string guitar with bends and slides.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I use Finale 26.1 on a windows 10 machine.

As far as I know, a semitone is the smallest interval supported by Finale. But you might get the effect you are seeking by playing with HP preferences.

1. Make a playback copy of the document.
2. Make the first note as long as possible and the second (target) note a 1/128th.
3. HP Preferences -> Gliss. & Bends.
4. Select 24 for the "1/2 Tone Pitch Bend Range" -> make sure "Delay if possible" is checked.

The smooth glide does not reach the second note so conspicuously. Hope this helps.
