Hello, I'm new here. I need help with a school project. As you can see here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cRO8na ... p=drivesdk

There is a higher voice and lower voice in both the violin and cello staves. The higher voice stems go up, and the lower voice stems go down. I have tried manually adjusting the stems, but it only seems to apply to the whole measure; all stems up, all stems down. There's got to be a better way to go about this. Please help me!

Thanks in advance,

- Corpsegrinder

Put the up-stem notes in layer 1 and the down-stem notes in layer 2 and the stems should be correct automatically. If you need to swap them, see the Utilities menu.

The stem direction tool in the Special Tools palette permits directing the stem just as you wish. Select the layer then the icon with an arrow on the stem. An asterisk will appear above and below each note in the selected measure. Click on an asterisk to determine which way it points.

You can have every note in all four layers point up or down in a single measure. If unable to do so, go into Document Options and uncheck whatever is restricting use of the stem direction tool.
