what happened to my expressions??!!
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
I've just started editing a new work, and have noticed that all the expressions I'd created to insert in the previous piece are no longer available. Isn't there a way to make sure that all new articulations and expressions remain memorised for future use in any document?

Articulations and expressions are document-specific.
Therefore:
Make a copy of the previous piece.
Open the copy, and delete all those articulations and expressions you didn't create yourself.
Now the copy contains only your own articulations and expressions.
Save an articulation library with your own articulations.
Save an expression library with your own expressions.
Now you can load the two libraries into your new document.
To make sure that your articulations and expressions are included in all new documents, load the libraries into the templates, and into the Default Document.

Florio,
I'm not sure why you are asking this question?
To me it seems quite simple.
To load a library into a document:
1. Open the document.
2. File menu > Load Library...
3. In the directory dialog box, navigate to your library, and double-click it.
4. Save the document.
If these steps don't solve the problem, please explain precisely, what you are doing, and what happens when you do so.

Yes, it should be a relatively simple operation. And I've have always done as you suggest in your instructions. But when I open the expressions and/or articulations pane, the ones I have created are not included.
Surely downloading a library does not mean that it automatically is included in the default document or template. I perhaps need to do something else here.

You also need to save the Default Document or Template - after you have loaded the library into the document.Florio wrote:...Surely loading a library does not mean that it automatically is included in the default document or template. I perhaps need to do something else here.
Perhaps you have opened an untitled copy of the Default Document or Template?
If that's the case, you should do a "Save As..." so that the original file is overwritten with the untitled copy containing your libraries.
