Using Finale 25.something on an up-to-date Macbook Pro.
I just need a push in the right direction.
I've been away from using Finale for close to two years and suddenly find I've forgotten a lot of basic things that I also can't seem to locate in the manual and that I'm embarrassed to ask about.
First of all, how can I find posts on this forum that I made myself?
I'm sure there's a way because I'm sure I used to do it.
(Mostly in the General Finale help category.)
I can find some answers to my problems in looking there without having to bother the list with beginner questions.
In the past, I created some fairly complex things, and some I learned how to do by asking questions here.
Working on another project after a long break and trying to come back up to speed.
need a push

Thank you for that.
Meanwhile, I found at the top left blue strip to the left of the words Quick links is a drawer icon that pops up a number of things. The first one is labeled "Your posts."
And sure enough, a quick scan through posts I made two years ago reminded me of the shortcut I needed most.
(Namely, to use Alt + 9 to bring up the tuples definition box.)
I hate being so helpless.

Ah yes, a feature of the new forum software.
There's an appendix in the manual "keyboard shortcuts," which you might find helpful. There are also discussions in the manual on entering tuplets. You might find the tutorials helpful as well.

Yes, I've read all that, including the tutorials, the user manual, and the stuff on tuplets (which in this case did not include what I was looking for), etc. Sometimes the problem is not knowing what string to search on or exactly what I'm looking for. I'm reluctant to ask because, as I said, I've used Finale before to accomplish some rather complex things, am far from a beginner with music notation, engraving, and Finale use, but it's been two years since I've even looked at it, and I'm still at the stage of clearing all the cobwebs out.
