adding staves but not in the entire score

hi
everything is in the title
in fact i want to add 2 staves of 3 measures for the cello and the bass , but for 3 measures.
when i do add staves , then finale will add the staves for all the score , that's not what i want
so i can't do anything
please help

Frequent question.
You indeed have to add all the staves you will need right from the start.
Then, in the staff menu, when staves are empty (really empty !), select these systems and apply "Hide Empty staves".

yeah , i thought about that , but the staves are still here , even empty , well i guess that's the only way to do it

are you looking at your score in page view? or scroll view?
if the former, then empty staves will not appear where you have defined them as hidden.
if the latter then all staves will appear regardless of their hidden/shown status.

also, it would be helpful to know which version of Finale you are using.
User of Finale since version 3.0 on Windows.
Now using a mix of Finale 2012, Finale 25, and 26.1
GPO, Garritan Solo Stradivari violin, Gofriller Solo Cello.
XSamples Chamber Ensemble.
Absolute convert to NotePerformer3.

well i watch my score in both views , but that's not the point
after all you're right i'll do it your way
