I'm preparing a choral score that begins with several measures for solo voice printed on two lines before the commencement of the choral parts. I want the Staff Name (i.e. "Solo") to appear at the beginning of the first line but not the second. If I tell the Staff Name "Solo" not to appear on the second staff it disappears throughout the entire piece. Is there a way to hide the Staff Name on just one single staff, while allowing it to appear on all the others?

Thanks, motet! I'll try this. Sorry to be so slow responding. I appreciate your time.

I created a new staff style, and turned off the button for including the Staff Name in the parts. I applied the style to the first bar of the line in my score where the unwanted name was appearing. It's still there. I think my problem may be that it is a "Group Name" that I want to turn off rather than a "Staff Name". Do you know how I can get rid of a Group Name?

If you don't mind removing it everywhere, go into the group definition and edit the name. If you want to keep it elsewhere, you can split the group in two (you can give it a measure range).

I've got it! I decided I didn't need the group anyway, so I deleted the group and worked with the "Staff Name" instead, with your instructions. Worked perfectly! Thank you so much for your help! My choral score looks MUCH better now!
