How do I automatically connect Smart Shapes (for Pedal Diagram)

I'm creating a pedal on/off diagram for piano, using the provided custom Smart Shapes. Although there is a functionality that makes it easy to "align horizontally," it is tiresome to manually make the end of one Smart Shape meet exactly at the beginning of the next. Is there any way of automatically "linking" them?
