delete rests in other layer?

Post by ZenMusic » Fri Jul 24, 2020 5:38 pm

restInOtherLayer.jpg
restInOtherLayer.jpg (9.18 KiB) Viewed 200 times
have 4/4 time have a whole note then the same measure also shows a eight rest, quarter rest and half rest in the same measure
How do I remove the rests.

I assume it it another layer ((NOTE I am not using layers in this score , don't need it))
1. I select the measure
2. I go VIEW select layer and nothing happens

I select and choose "clear all items' nothing happens

I deleted the entire measure to reenter
then added a measure and the rests are back
though all my notes are deleted.

If I just delete the measure, then the rest show up in the next measure (are just moved to the next measure)

The rests may have been put in the previous measure by mistake. If you can upload your file here, someone will check.

It is a motet says.

The rests you see in m. 16, are actually at the end of m. 15.
Go to m. 15, and you can delete the rests one by one.

The rests you see in m. 39, are actually at the end of m. 38.
Go to m. 38, and you can delete the rests one by one.

I suggest you turn on "Check for extra notes" in Speedy or Simple entry.
