Hi Everyone -

I'm trying to create a gradual accelerando in Finale - but running into some challenges.
As of now, I'm consulting this description for the "how to":
https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/Fin ... rando2.htm

Although, I am using Finale 25, not Finale 2012.

If I use the built-in "accel." expression at the default quarter note=120, nothing happens.
If I specify a tempo with an expression marking, I get an acceleration over 2 bars.

I go in an edit the "accel" :
1. I go to the Playback Tab and select type: "Tempo"
2. I select "Execute Shape" and draw a "0, 0" to "'4, 4" line on a one 1/8th note-per-dot grid.
3. I set the time scale to 6:1 and the level scale to 13:4.

This still only accelerates on two bars. Further modification seems to not change the result.

I'm curious what is going on, from a MIDI playback standpoint - is it possible to do a gradual increase from 100 bpm to 200 bpm over, let's say, 12 bars?

Try adding a tempo marking (that has a playback effect) where you want the accel. to end, specifying your target speed. I just tried it and achieved a gradual accel. over 10 bars.
