Changing time signature w/o messing up existing figures

Post by bj nick » Mon Aug 17, 2020 5:38 am

I'm working on a piece in 5/4 and I need to insert one bar of 6/4, then right back to 5/4 for the rest of the piece. I've tried different ways with the same result: as soon as I change the time signature for that one bar, all the figures after that get messed up....beats are added, etc. So....there's something I'm not understanding about doing this properly.
