I'm working on a piece in 5/4 and I need to insert one bar of 6/4, then right back to 5/4 for the rest of the piece. I've tried different ways with the same result: as soon as I change the time signature for that one bar, all the figures after that get messed up....beats are added, etc. So....there's something I'm not understanding about doing this properly.

Honestly, it was a few years ago and I don't remember! What I recall is that it was very simple and intuitive; thus my response. My guess is Peter will respond soon and you'll be able to see it.
