I'm trying to put together a chord chart and show different voicings of the same chord or sometimes different inversions but when I show a D/F# for instance the accompanying fretboard will just show a standard open D chord. So I edit it and then later when I want a standard open D the fretboard will default to the new D/F#.

I don't see the custom voicing in this file.

P.S.: If you want to create a custom fretboard, duplicate the standard one first and then edit it. When entering the D chord the standard one should appear. Then manually change to the custom one by selecting it from the window where your custom one now resides. You can create as many custom ones as you want, and then manually replace the stock fretboard with the selected custom one each time.

An easier way, instead of entering the chord (and fretboard) and then changing it, is to double click, enter the letter in the slot, and then select the fretboard. Saves a step.

P.S.: After reading your original post, I see that you are editing the primary fretboard. You don't want to edit that. You want to create custom fretboards and then choose them as you go. Always leave the standard one as is to avoid what you had happen (successive entries using the modified fretboard every time).
P.P.S.: Here's a short demo file.

Thanks Zuill,
I'm having trouble seeing how to create a Custom Fretboard.

In the Chord Tool:
1. Double click where you want a chord.
2. In the Chord Definition window enter the chord name you want in the slot labeled Chord Symbol.
3. The Fretboard ID should say 1. Next to that press the Select button.
4. In that window you will see the available Fretboards. You can duplicate and edit, or create a new Fretboard there.
5. Choose the Fretboard you want and press the Select button. That number will now show in the box for Fretboard ID.
6. Press OK. The chosen Fretboard will now show in the score.
Each chord name available has it's own set of Fretboards. In other words, D, Dm, Dmaj7, etc. (corresponding to all the available suffixes) have their own Fretboards. Also, alterations invoke different sets of Fretboards (flat, sharp).
I hope this helps.
