Hi, I've tried using the Staff tool, double clicking on the staff and then de-selecting the Measure Numbers box, but they stubbornly remain.

To get rid of them entirely, go to the Measure tool, pick Edit Measure Number Regions from the menu, and delete the regions you find there.

(There's a setting there that shows them on the top or bottom staff, no matter what, which is likely why the staff attribute didn't work.)

Thanks! Is there a way to remove the Padlock icons from the page?

The padlock indicates you've locked the number of measures in the system, and is on the display only--it won't print. But you can turn the display of them off--on Windows, it's from the View menu, View/Show/Page Layout Icons. There should be something similar on the Mac.

My View menu doesn't have that on my Mac, unfortunately...I've looked at various menus but haven't found it.

The documentation for Mac does say that the option is there:

Thanks for your patience! MY BAD, I didn't scroll down the menu far enough to see the Show option.
