Finale Version 26.3.1.520
Windows 10 64-bit

Although not a beginner, I haven't been able to find out why tempo alterations are not reproduced in my documents. Can someone teach me?

Regards,
John

I created a file of my own, and the tempo alterations worked properly. I can't seem to find what's up in your document.

Here's a file which I created that uses the same "out-of-the-box" expressions you have in your file. This seems to work as expected.

I did something to your file to get it to work. Attached.

I tried exporting to XML, then reimporting that file and it fixed the playback. I'm guessing either some corruption happened in this file, or your Default file is corrupted. If this is happening with all files, I think you might start by recreating your preferences. If that doesn't fix the issue, then consider your default file is corrupted and replace it.

I also copied your file and pasted into a new Default document and it cleared up the issue.

P.S.: In the attached file, I created a new cello staff, copied into it from the original staff, then deleted the original staff.
