OK. I'll keep it simple. I have Finale 2012. Nothing added.

Where do I find a Brush Hit sound? Almost all Brush Drum Kit sounds sound like a stir. I want a hit.

Finale 2012 had the Map and Layout messed up. Finale v26 has things fixed. However, you can still get what you want. 2012 called the Brush Hit "Electric Snare Drum". Go figure. In v26, they call it Snare Drum Brush, which is the correct name.

Strangely, I went back to the Score Manager, clicked on Garritan Instruments and Brush Drum Kit. All the notes on the staff dropped down about 4 octaves. I figured out how to fix that, but what was that?

Anyway, to the point. I suddenly found "Snare Drum Brush" on the percussion staff! And it sounds like a brush hit!

Whereas, yesterday, I couldn't find it for the life of me. I figure I must have got my 2012 updated at some point or other. Who knows.

Anyhow, maybe you can help with my second question. I need a better hi hat sound. The Garritan is too tinkytanky, the SmartMusic has some kind of static interference on it. Somehow I get the feeling there are other, alternative sounds buried somewhere in there. But beats me where to get them. Any thoughts?

And please try to simplify if possible. I'm the kind of guy who needs precise click here, click there, click here, click there instructions until I get used to something.

In the Brush Drum Kit (Garritan), which of the 4 HH sounds are you wanting to replace? Same question for the SoftSynth sounds. Have you explored the TapSpace sounds?
