I'm trying to import a backing track generated in Band-In-A-Box into Finale but failed. The format is .wav. Finale says "cannot place this type of audio file".
What should I do? Thank you!!

Convert it to mp3. I have my system set to 44.1 khz. To match, the mp3 should also be 44.1 khz. Otherwise, the speed will be off. I haven't tried 48 with 48, but you could also try that. Generally, 44.1 is standard for mp3, AFAIK.

Something else to keep in mind: it's hard to sync up Finale notation with an audio file, even if the tempo is steady. I have found issues in doing so with Human Playback on, at least in the live form. Even applying HP via the MIDI tool feature would probably not work, as it will introduce tempo variations that will put it out of sync with the audio. With the HP "hard-wire" approach, just select things like variations in attacks and the like, and uncheck anything to do with tempo. Then, with the "Tempo Tap", manually sync the 2. If the audio track is 100% steady, you might get away with selecting the tempo in the playback window slot.

I tried several wav files and some work and some don't I think the sample rate might be one of the issues that might prevent a file from being able to be loaded. One that worked was a wav file created from a Finale file.

You were right -- it didn't sync, even though I adjusted the sample rate... It's off half-way...
How do I get to the "hard-wire" approach? Thank you, Zuill!
