Hello,
I can't manage to end a bar, despite the fact that all the priors one were fine, done with the same four 7-tuplets in each bar. As you can see on the picture, I can't end the tuplet. I've tried to erase the rests and replace them by notes but it didn't work. I have the sound error each time I'm trying to add a note. My tuplets are seven ones, each tuplet has a 2 crotches duration in a 4/4 measure. Any idea ?
I can't attach a screen capture, it's too large.

There are indeed bugs in Simple entry with tuplets at the end of the bar. Try temporarily turning off the Simple entry option "Check for extra notes". Also try both deleting the rests that Finale inserts when you set up the tuplet and not deleting them. Finally, consider Speedy entry, which seems to be bug-free in this situation.

Seven whats in the space of what?
It's not a bug, except perhaps in the manual. It depends on how you enter the tuplet.
Here, I entered the first note. I tapped OPT-numpad 9 to enter the tuplet definition frame. I set the tuplet as 7 (Use current) in the space of 2 (use current.) I checked Save as Default, and OK. This returned me to the score, where I entered the next 6 notes. From then on, I entered the first note, and tapped numpad 9, which set it up as I wanted, and entered the notes.
In simple terms, entering the first note and then telling Finale that a tuplet was coming allowed the program to save space for it, even on the last beat.

Miker,
It's exactly what I was doing. It worked perfectly for the first page of my score, and then, I couldn't end the bar, my seven tuplet didn't allow me to enter the last two notes of the seven. I entered the new entry options box and remove the option of adding extra notes and rests as advised my the other forum helper, and it works. Obviously, it's a software problem.

what I was doing was exactly what your screen capture shows. And it was impossible to enter the last two notes of the bar, no matter what. It worked nicely for the previous bars. I changed nothing and it didn't work anymore. I don't understand why.

As it should be. I do recall, though, that there are situations where Simple Entry gets confused at the end of a bar and produces 64th notes tied over the bar or somesuch. Maybe it's with mixed tuplets. Sometimes deleting the rests solves it, sometimes deleting them causes it.

Yes, with “off the wall” tuplets, sometimes random rests are generated. I fill my tuplet, and then delete the rests.
