I have just successfully typed in a pop song using Finale 27.1 . Unfortunately, the score looked crammed up . I would like to have
longer space for each measure .

My questions :

_How can I change the number of staffs on a currently existed page in a score ( i.e. in Finale 27.1 ) ?

_Can I also limit the number of measures allowed on a staff to ,say, 4 ? How ?

Thank you

tommy ( A Finale clueless novice ! )

The number of measures on a staff is really governed by the music therein and how it's spaced. First, go to Document options/Music spacing and try loading the loose-spacing library.

You can manually change where a system breaks by highlighting a measure in the Selection tool and pressing up-arrow or down-arrow to move it to the previous or next system. This will lock the number of measures in both the source and target systems, so you may want to unlock the latter as you move though the file.

Finally, Utilties/Fit measures lets you specify exactly n measures per system, but unless your music is very simple, this probably won't look good.
