I've a two-voice stave which appears as in A in the diagram shown here:

Voices
I'd like to move the lower voice in A, so that it appears as the lower voice in B does.

How can I select only the notes from the voice to move, to cut and move them to Layer 2?

If someone could tell me the step-by-step process to do this, I'd be very grateful. I've searched the online manual but it does not seem to cover this.

Thank you.

The plugin JW Staff Polyphony will do it. Make sure you get the correct plugin for your system.

Why not write the second voice in layer 2? When printing the document, the notation is all black.

Writing flamenco music, I use layer 4 for the percussive notes, assigning Brazilian Percussion as the instrument as the G5 note sounds like a tap on the golpeador (at 55% volume). When writing music for classical guitar, it's not unusual to use all 4 layers. The stem direction tool gives full control of stems; an assigned hotkey would permit even smoother workflow.

Does the said plug-in separate the stem direction of the notation in one layer only?

Djard, I believe the OP's question related to already-entered music. Why not download the plugin, and see if it will do what you need?

In Simple or Speedy entry, the L key will flip the stem.
