I'd like to copy a phrase in one key signature into a measure that is written in a different key signature. I would like to preserve the original notes, though. How might one do that in Finale?
Thank you

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to do this - right?

Yes - the second one is what I intended.

I don't know a way of avoiding the transposition that Finale does. But you should be able to just transpose it back.

Well, the issue is that I don't want to transpose the entire measure back.. sometimes I just want to use specific chords that were in a different key signature. It could definitely be done manually, but it would be tedious..

I suppose one could make a measure key signature-less, post the new information, and then reapply the old key signature with no transposition.

It doesn't look like keyless prevents the transposition from happening

I just copy them then use the transpose function to put the notes back. It's not good, but not too bad. One thing that helps is copying several chunks (with the same starting and ending key) before transposing; fortunately transposing to itself doesn't seem to cause much of a problem.

I haven't checked if JW has anything.
