Sorry for all the questions. I cannot seem to find what I need in Help or the manual, and Google searches for Finale questions always show things that don't actually work.

Question: How do I copy lyrics from one section to another? Example: I don't want to retype lyrics for multiple choruses.

Thank you.

For example, I found this with a Google search, but the Lyric tool does not allow me to select measures or regions.

"To clone lyrics

Click the Lyrics tool. The Lyrics menu appears.
Choose Lyrics > Clone Lyric.
Select the region whose lyrics you want to copy. You use the Lyrics tool to select a musical region just as you would with the Selection tool.
Drag the first selected measure so that it’s superimposed on the first target measure."

Another Google search result said to highlight a region, and then go to Edit|Filter to select lyrics. I do not see that option.

Do you have the full Finale, and not NotePad, SongWriter, etc. The other programs don’t have that option.

My method is to copy and paste in the lyrics windows, and flow the lyrics into the new location. For whatever reason, I’ve never been happy with cloning.

If you have multiple verses, use a new lyric verse for each one. Be careful to stay in the correct layers.

Thanks. I have Finale Print Music.

I just retyped the lyrics. It didn't take long.

You might want to add that to your “Finale version.” It will save all of us a lot of time!

As soon as I figure out how to do that, I will.
