I am having trouble getting human playback to correctly play glissandi. In the pictures I attached, both measures sound exactly the same when played back. Human playback was able to play a drum roll, so it seems that it works, but just not for glissandi somehow. What do I need to change in order to make this playback correctly? I am using the free trial version of Finale on macOS if that matters.

Possibly (but this may not be how Human Playback works) because a *true* glissando on the trombone cannot be greater than a diminished 5th/augmented 4th. To test this you could try it with B natural to F which would be 7th position to 1st on the 3rd harmonic. Are you using GIFF sounds for the trombone, or something else?

You might try using a hidden Tab Slide or the Bend Tool for playback. For me, changing the Device has worked in the past, from Garritan to Smartmusic or vice-versa. I find gliss. to work only when selected from the SmartShape palette, not from the Articulation menu or Custom Line tool. Another thing you can try is selecting Custom HP.

Often, such problems are corrected by clearing the MIDI Data (Selection tool -> Clear Selected items -> None -> check on the MIDI Data).

To rule out file corruption, I recreate the section in a new document. If the issue is resolved, "Clear all items" in the measure then copy and paste the working measure into the problematic page, horizontally tiling the two documents. To rule out specific page corruption, try writing the gliss. temporarily on another page.
