Are you using a custom font? Was this from a scan, or did you apply the slurs?
If this is a standard Finale font, and this is what happens when you double click with the slur tool, then I would refresh the preference file.

What music font is used?
Another possible culprit for such problems is that the music font’s FAN file is missing.
FAN means ‘Font Annotation’.
In the Preferences you can see the file paths to the various Finale folders, including the folder Font Annotation.
