I can't seem to move an expression for ALL staves simultaneously. It's like "Individual positioning" is on by default, and i can't find anywhere to change that.

Please give an explicit example of what you want to do and which expressions are involved, or attach your file here. If the expressions are attached to the above-staff or below-staff baseline (such as dynamics or tempo marks), you can move the baseline. You can adjust the positioning for everything in a category (assuming "use category positioning" has not been unchecked). But in a sense, they are all individually positioned.

hey Motet, that sounds like what i need to do. Where is "use category positioning" found? I couldn't find it in any dialog box I could think to look in. Maybe I glossed over it when looking for "Allow individual positioning". I upgraded from Finale 2003 right to 27.2! steep learning curve for some stuff all over again I suppose.

Document/Category designer. If you opened an old file, everything will be in one big category, though.
