Please explain how The tool for tuples work. Or in other words How do you know which way to set up the tuples short cut. I need this done in 3.

Something like that. I have 2 32nd notes fellow by 4 16th notes all link under a tuple with a number 3 above it.

I don't think that's legitimate musical notation. 5 maybe, but not 3.

Are all of those notes on one beat of a 4/4 measure? In that case, it should be a 5, as motet says. My Simple Entry tuplets tutorial:

I finally got the scanner working. Here is a pic of the sheet;
The timing is 4/4 this is in place of a quarter note.

Since this is not rhythmically correct notation, we need info about how the rhythm should be read.
