hi there
i'm working on a creation for cellos and the slurs are quite a pain in the butt
the problem is to create a slur from the last measure of a staff and that it continues to the next measure of the next staff
see there down below
so how can i do that?
and another question , when i'm working with slurs , with the smart shape palette, and suddenly i want to work with the selection tool , the smart shape palette disappears , i have to make it appears again ; not so problematic , but when you do that 40 times it's very disturbing
thanks y'all

Actually, in Finale-speak, the right word here is system, not staff.
A staff goes horizontally through all the measures of the entire document.
A system is one line in the layout.

You are using a mouse - right?

To draw a slur between two not adjacent notes, double-click on the first note, but do not release the mouse button on the second click.
Then, drag to the other note.
As you drag, Finale will show you where the slur will end.
This also works across a system break.
If you are having difficulties with this, try in Scroll View instead.

Are you using Windows Finale or Mac Finale?

At least in Mac Finale the Smart Shape Palette will return when you switch back to the Smart Shape Tool.

It works the same way in Windows as well. I believe it should work that way automatically and I couldn't find anything in settings to change it, so it may be a problem with the OP's setup.

However, click Window/Smart Shape Palette and the palette should remain on the screen regardless of the tool used. Since the OP uses the tool frequently it may be a viable workaround.

In Program Options, (maybe Pallets and Backgrounds?) there is a checkbox to close subsidiary pallets when leaving the tool. Unchecking it will insure that the smart shape pallet remains.
