Hello everyone
i have a problem that suddenly appeared and i can't explain it. i hope this works here in english....
i'm working in fast input and i simply want to note two or three notes vertically on top of each other in a bar. i do this using the keyboard (set cursor, enter rhythm value). This works with the first note. if i put the second below (or above) it makes me a new separate note. I do not understand why. I sent the file to a colleague, with him this does not happen. so it must be somehow in the settings of my finale that this suddenly no longer works. can anyone help me with this?
thank you in advance.

computer (Mac) keyboard. working with speedy-entry. choosing tone-heigh with arrows, rhythms with numbers, entering the sound with return.
in order to add a second sound for intervall/chord I would have gone back with the arrow, place the second sound and press return again. Now if I do that, it would add the new sound(tone) and shift the previously set sound one step further. Notation of chords/intervalls is so not possible. However in simple-input-mode it works just like before, without problems. But I am used to work in speedy-entry-mode...
I allready restarted the computer - it didnt change anything. thank you.

When I do what you describle, it enters the first note when the number is pressed. Then Return can be used to add to it as you say. I'm not sure how you avoid entering the first note when you press the number key.

It sounds as if you "insert" notes. I do not know how that is done on a MAC, on my PC I would have to press the "insert key".
You shold have a look at the speedy entry menu, see if "insert notes and rests" is checked there. If yes, uncheck it. I hope I could explain what I mean, I have a German version...
And I hope this solves your problem.
Peter
