Good morning, well it is morning where I'm at. I have notice lately that Finale is acting up. Well, I think it is, because the first measure of any piece that I play is quit then it gets louder with each measure Until it is up to the loudness that it is supposed to be. I never notice this before until about a week ago.

I try to make it louder with 4F from the Dynamics Menu. but it makes no difference. Also, when I am entering the notes, I used to be able to hear them. Now I only hear them when I enter the notes quickly. If I wait a second or two between the notes, I do not hear them.

Is this something new or has it always been there?

These problems are not usual; it's likely something peculiar to you. Start by turning off Human Playback and see if that changes anything. Make sure the playback option Dynamics and Markings is set to "Chase from first measure."

I checked both Items and the problem is still there. I guess I'll keeping playing around until I find something or maybe do a reinstall or is there a reset option.

I uninstalled the program, them did a reinstall. No change the problem is still there.

You might also try a different Audio driver in MIDI/Audio->Device setup->Audio setup.

Motet you're a whiz. That did it. I change to WASAPI I have no idea what it is but it works better than Direct Sound. Thanks again.

I'm glad it worked. WASAPI is newer than DirectSound. I think DirectSound is now deprecated but is there for old apps that may need it.
