I have seen doted nots before but not 2 dots. where do I find 2 dots?

I think one just uses a period on a selected note to get the first dot, then a second period to get the second. I tried it and could add 9 dots.

I tried it and failed. I am talking about the period to extent the note by half its value.

How are you entering the music? Simple entry or Speedy entry? Mouse, QWERTY keyboard or MIDI keyboard?

I was in Simple Entry. I don't know what the OP was doing. (I haven't learned other ways, yet.)

After entering your single dotted note, deselect the note on the simple entry palette, leaving only the dot selected, then click on the dotted note already entered.
Or, after entering the single dotted note, with it still selected and red, press the period on bottom row of the keyboard.
