Good morning ScoreMerger Is not working, or I don't know what I am doing. I Have assembled two programs with scoreMerger but now it isn't working. Due to the number of parts I wrote Elephant Walk by each instrument. When I went to join all the parts together, I lost the sound after the third or four part is added. At first, I added all the parts together. I realize that not all the sounds were playing. I add each part one at a time. after the third or fourth part I started to lose sound for some of the instruments. I choose Merge the parts into one score. any help or insight please.

Pat,

I would set up a new score with all of the parts. Copy/paste your scores into the new document.

Score merger is meant to merge two partiturs, or full scores, not several parts for different instruments.

Sorry for the long wait. Mike, I tried it your way, but I messed up. Motet thanks for telling me how to use the merger. I wonder if I was using it the right way. Since I did two programs that way, I thought I was doing it right. Question. What does it mean when the instrument are split into 5 parts?

Pat, not sure what you mean by this. Could you elaborate, please?

As I see the attached graphic, the instruments are not “split” into 5 parts.

Rather the (many) pitched instruments (some of them with different staff transpositions) are “joined” into 5 parts.

In Other Words:
Some (different) instruments are playing (doubling) the same melodic line.
Meaning that, musically there are only 5 different parts/lines:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5

An example:

Part 1 is played by
- Flute
- Oboe
- B♭ Clarinet / B♭ Trumpet (the slash mens that they play from the same layout, namely B♭ Transposition)
- Violin

But I am just guessing.
I have not seen the actual score.

Well Pete, I'll say you hit the nail on the head. as I was entering the notes in, I saw the pattern that you are trying to explain. In fact, after I enter the first set of notes for the different parts. I was able to cut and paste the rest of the instruments. I tried to show the first page of notes but was unable to get then small enough to post.

Thank you for your help.
