Running Finale ver. 27.4.1.110 on windows 10 triggering with a Roland GR-55 guitar synth. When using hyperscribe Finale is writing multiple notes and chords...even if i only play one note. Additionally the notes are being written off the staff and off the right side of the page where there is no staff and no page. Very odd and seemingly buggy. Thank you in advance for any advice.

About notes out of the margins : respace (type 4 and apply Update Layout).

Sounds like you've turned Automatic Update Layout off. There is no advantage to doing so, so turn it back on and leave it on.

Is there any way to monitor what MIDI signals your Roland is sending?

Thank you for your responces. As far as Automatic Update Layout is concerned...I don't really know what that is. I have just installed the newest version of Finale and I am a newbee. I will look for it and make sure it's on if I can find it. I did not knowingly turn it off but maybe I did so accidently. I do not have a way to monitor midi signals but I think you're on the right track. I have turned off all the extraneous data such as pitch bend, expression pedals, and so forth to no avail. I was kind of hoping someone here on the forum may be using the GR-55 and worked this out. Everthing works fine with my Arturia MiniLab but that is just a controller. Thanks again for any ideas. I will post my solution assuming I arrive at one.

Sorry for the terse response. Automatic Update Layout is in the Edit menu/Preferences, then look in the Edit section of preferences.

To test your MIDI, go to the Simple Entry tool, check Use MIDI Device for Input on the Simple menu, select a quarter note from the palette, then play some notes on your keyboard.
