i have a score with a 15.5 measure intro in adagio, and 1/2 way through the 15th bar the tempo picks up to allegro.

i want to create a couble bar line in the middle of the measure.

does finale2003 really not do this? i can't find anything within the app itself, on this forum (either it's not up here, i missed it or it is called something not very obvious), or even with a few quick web searches!

please let me know if you've figured out how to do this! thank you!

In this example let's say that the time signature in the 15th measure is 4/4.

Instead of the 15th measure, use two measures of 2/4, displaying as 4/4 (in the dialog box Time Signature, click the button "More Choices").

Give the first 2/4 measure a double barline (Measure Tool, context-click the measure handle, in the context menu choose "Double Barline").

Exclude the second 2/4 measure from measure numbering.
This step is a little awkward in Finale 2003 (since Finale 2006 it's been an option in the Measure Attributes):

The two 2/4 measures are Measure 15 and Measure 16, and you want to exclude Measure 16 from measure numbering.
Create two measure number regions (Measure menu > Measure Numbers > Edit Regions...).
The first region includes the measures 1-15.
The second region includes the measures 17-999, displaying as 16-998.
