Hello, I have Finale2006. I created a nonstandard key signature (E flat and A flat), but in the playback it plays E and A instead. Where is my error?

Your key signature doesn't play back correctly because you haven't altered the Key Step Map according to the new key signature.
One of the powerful features of nonlinear key signatures is that display and playback aren't linked, so you can have different display scale and playback scale.

To fix the playback do this:

In the dialog box Nonstandard Key Signature, click the button KeyMap.
The dialog box Key Step Map appears.

Click the black and white squares to change their color so that the scale steps have a white square, and the non-scale steps have a black square.
03 (= Eb) should be white
04 (= E) should be black
08 (= Ab should be white
09 (= A) should be black

I don't understand why you have created this key signature as a nonlinear key signature.
You could have created it as a linear key format (using Linear Key Format 2 or higher), and playback would automatically be correct.

Thank you Peter, I did as you suggested with a linear key format. I think YOU should write the Finale Manual, then it would be much clearer.
