I thought I was finished with the questions for my first Finale project, but here is one more.
I have some grace notes that are slurred to staccato eighth notes. Both the slur and the staccato go underneath the notes. The staccato automatically places itself within the slur, but that is not proper musical notation for what I am trying to do.
I have tried to delete both the slur and the staccato and start again by placing the slur first and then the staccato underneath it, but Finale snaps them right back to the way they were. Is there any way of fixing this?
Thank you!

The following steps will position all staccato dots outside slurs.
If you need only some of the staccatos in your document to be positioned outside slurs, duplicate the staccato (in the Articulation Selection, select the staccato, and click the button "Duplicate"), then edit the duplicate:
In the dialog box Articulation Selection, select the staccato, and click the button "Edit...".
The dialog box Articulation Designer appears.
In the pane "Positioning", deselect the option "Inside Slurs".
Click OK.
