Print to File

I'm using Finale 2007.

When using the Print to File option, what file format is it using? When I clicked the option it asked me for a file name. I selected a destination and type a name, but I wasn't prompted for filetype.
I looked in the manual, but all it said was Select this checkbox to print to a file instead of the printer.

I'm sorry, but I don't know where in Finale you can find the "Print to File" option.
Could you direct me?
