Hi!
I use Finale 2007. I want an Anacrusis of 1/8 as the start measure of a 4/4 piece. I can do it in the normal way (as a pick up measure), but I do not want to wait for the invisible rests Finale puts in front of my single 1/8.

If I use the measure tool, to define the first measure as 1/8 (and display as 4/4), to a defined region of measure #1 to measure #1, the initial 1/8 disappears from measure 1, i.e. it jumps to measure 2 (but is not played) and I am not allowed to insert another 1/8 on measure 1. This initial measure remains blank (no rest, or anything and the initial note does not play.

I don't know what could I be doing wrong. Some help? thanks...

Delete what you've already done. Try setting up your empty 1/8 measure first, with the time signature tool, and THEN insert the note.
