Beamming 2 quavers with a rest in between?

In 6/8 time i need to beam 2 quavers but with a quaver rest in between?
I tried using the "/" but not working..

Please help.

Depends on where you have the cursor. I'm guessing you're "/"ing the second quaver. Try "/"ing the rest.

if you need these beaming for the whole part with 6/8, set your time signature to 2 dotted quarter notes, you will get the beams automatically
