Percussive notes in Finale Guitar

I'm using Finale Guitar, and want to add notes that are percussive only, usually indicated as a 'x' instead of a notehead or a tab number. I can't seem to figure out how. Can someone tell me what I'm missing?

In Finale 2004 there are two ways (I do not know Finale Guitar): for only single noteheads use the special tools (there is one with an x, this is the one you need). click into the measure, you will get handles on the notes, click on one handle an then on edit. Uncheck "use standard symbol".

If you need to change noteheads for a region use the mass mover tool. Go to the move menu/change/noteheads.

Thanks, tho I don't see the tool you describe for changing noteheads in Finale Guitar, seems like they must have left that off. Somewhat unbelievable given how common this need is in guitar music. Maybe it's hidden somewhere.
