This is stránge. I re-ordered some stanzas for an alternate version of an arrangement, swapping vv 2 and 3 and inserting a 5th. But the MIDI export still retains the old order. I'm trying not to recreate a fairly large build in a DAW, and this is really messing up my day. o_0

What do you mean by "stanzas"? Lyric verses or staves?

I say stanzas as this project involves choral work, let's talk about measure groups. In the original setup, e.g., measures 17-32 originally had harmonization A and measures 33 to 48 had harmonization B, ergo A-B. I've swapped them (via cut and paste), so the harmonizations in the score are now B-A... but the midi output is still A-B.

I had to use music xml - but unfortunately that means re-formatting 128-bar score. I can't have a separate score for audio and print production, too many versioning errors. A mind warp, no?

Well, that's bizarre. When you play it back in Finale, does it play in the order you expect it to? I would try selecting everything in the Selection tool, the do Edit/Clear Selected Items, click None and them MIDI Data (so you're only clearing MIDI data). Make a backup copy first!

I think I will indeed try that on a copy of the original file. It does play back in correct order - and everything exports properly from a music xml rebuild, so somehow this file managed to get itself corrupted, or is caching something that got stuck. (I'm not sure how Finale works, but I am on Sonoma which has created little problems for me elsewhere and everywhere, and I am now more inclined to attribute the error to Sonoma.)
